She has only eaten a small amount of boiled chicken over the last few days and is drinking water normally. She is having diarrhea and it’s in very small amounts and it is a dark brown red color almost like the color of a brick. She has thrown up once and it looked like there may have been some paper towels in her vomit. Her belly seems to be bloated and it seems to be painful when I touch it. She has no energy and is laying down most of the day. I don’t have the money at the moment to take her to a vet and I cannot find a vet that will treat her and do a payment plan or something of that sort. I don’t know what to do for her.
I'm truly sorry to hear about your dog's condition. The symptoms you're describing—such as a bloated and painful belly, dark brown-red diarrhea, vomiting that may include foreign objects, and lethargy—are indeed very concerning. These signs could indicate serious issues like gastrointestinal obstruction, internal bleeding, or even a condition known as gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV), which is a medical emergency.
Given the severity of her symptoms, it's crucial to get her to a veterinarian as soon as possible. Conditions like GDV can be life-threatening and require immediate medical intervention. Even if finances are tight, many veterinary clinics offer emergency care options, and some may work with you on a payment plan or provide information on local animal charities that can assist.
In the meantime, try to keep her as comfortable as possible. Avoid giving her any more food or treats, and only offer small amounts of water to prevent further bloating. Monitor her breathing and pulse closely. If she shows signs of rapid or shallow breathing, weakness, or collapse, these are indicators of an emergency situation.
I understand the financial constraints, but her symptoms are serious enough that delaying care could worsen her condition. Please try to find a way to get her seen by a professional as soon as possible.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you.
