These symptoms could indicate a few potential issues.

One possibility is an allergic reaction, which might be triggered by environmental factors such as pollen, dust mites, or even certain foods. Another potential cause could be a parasitic infection, like fleas or mites, despite her being on flea and tick prevention. Additionally, skin infections, whether bacterial or fungal, could also be contributing to her discomfort.

First, give her a bath using a gentle, hypoallergenic shampoo specifically designed for dogs. And Applying a soothing ointment or cream, such as those containing aloe vera or hydrocortisone, can help reduce itching and inflammation. Be sure to avoid her eyes when applying any topical treatments.

Even though she's on prevention, it's a good idea to thoroughly check her for any signs of fleas or ticks. Sometimes, these pests can still cause issues.

Ensure her bedding and living areas are clean and free from dust and other potential allergens. Regular vacuuming and washing her bedding can help.

Given that her symptoms have been ongoing for several months and seem to be causing significant discomfort, I recommend that you take Ruby to the vet and have her examined to determine the exact cause. They can perform tests to determine the exact cause of her symptoms and provide more targeted treatment.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.

I understand that managing veterinary expenses can be challenging. Applying a cool, damp cloth to the affected areas can help soothe itching and reduce inflammation.

If you have any questions in the future, please try using the app again. I will do my best to provide a better answer the next time!

I hope her condition improves.

i think she’s starting to get better. not itching as much. she’s still licking and biting but not too bad. what do i do for hair loss? she’s lost so much around her eye, and a little on the inside of her back legs. we still can’t go to a vet for money reasons.

I'm glad to hear that she's experiencing less itching.

Ensure she is on a high-quality diet that includes essential fatty acids like omega-3 and omega-6. These nutrients are crucial for improving skin and coat health.

Regular, gentle grooming can also be beneficial. Using a soft-bristled brush, gently brush her coat to stimulate hair follicles and encourage regrowth.

i’m not sure if it’s getting better now. i have being using stuff tk heal it but she keeps ripping off the scabs and now it looks very irritated. i’m not sure if it’s healing i can’t tell.
