She has had yellowish discharge and watery eyes for the past week. She has been sneezing the past 2 or 3 days. Not last night, but the night before she had a fever, it went into the mid-day day yesterday and was gone but lunch. She recently just started having Diarrhea last night, she probably went about 5, maybe 6 times. She has not had diarrhea this morning, but she did however spit up a white watery substance about an hour ago..
I believe the sneezing and discharge/watery eyes is allergies.
I believe the diarrhea and little spit up might be from food poisoning.
She isn't lethargic, she turned down food yesterday, except for some chicken and noodles, (why I think she has food poisoning), she doesn't have loss of appetite, nor Fatigue, nor bloody stool. When it's hot she tends to eat at night after it cools down, which she did last night. She ate quite a few Popsicles yesterday. I haven't gave her food today. Pictures are 3 of her diarrhea and one of the spit up.
It sounds like your pup is dealing with multiple issues at once, which can be quite concerning. Let's break down the symptoms and what they might indicate.
The yellowish discharge and watery eyes, along with sneezing, could indeed be related to allergies or a respiratory infection. Allergies can cause these symptoms, but so can infections like kennel cough or canine influenza. Given that these symptoms have been ongoing for a week, it’s important to monitor her closely.
The diarrhea and vomiting could be due to dietary indiscretion, such as eating something that didn’t agree with her, or it could be related to a gastrointestinal infection. Since she has had diarrhea multiple times and vomited a white watery substance, it’s crucial to keep her hydrated. Offer her small amounts of water frequently and consider giving her a bland diet, such as boiled chicken and rice, in small portions to see if her stomach settles.
The fever she experienced could be a sign of an underlying infection or inflammation. Since she had a fever recently, it’s important to keep an eye on her temperature. If she becomes lethargic, refuses to eat, or if the diarrhea and vomiting persist, it would be best to seek veterinary care immediately.
Given the combination of symptoms and the fact that she’s a young puppy, it’s essential to rule out more serious conditions like parvovirus, especially since she has had her parvovirus vaccine. However, no vaccine is 100% effective, and young puppies are particularly vulnerable.
In summary, while some of these symptoms might be manageable at home with careful monitoring and supportive care, the combination of diarrhea, vomiting, and recent fever suggests that a visit to the veterinarian is warranted to ensure there’s no serious underlying condition. They can provide a thorough examination and appropriate treatment to help her recover quickly.
