Black, sticky poop in a kitten can indeed be concerning, as it might indicate the presence of digested blood, which could be a sign of gastrointestinal bleeding. However, it could also be due to dietary reasons or something the kitten ingested.

There are a few steps you can take at home to address this issue:

Firstly, ensure that your kitten is eating a balanced diet appropriate for its age. Sometimes, changes in diet or certain foods can cause dark stools.

Secondly, make sure the kitten is well-hydrated, as dehydration can exacerbate gastrointestinal issues.

Lastly, check to see if the kitten has ingested anything unusual, such as a foreign object or a toxic substance.

Given that the kitten is very young and this issue has been ongoing for a couple of days, it's crucial to monitor for any additional symptoms like lethargy, vomiting, or a decrease in appetite. If you notice any of these symptoms or if the black, sticky poop continues, it would be best to consult a veterinarian to rule out any serious conditions.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.

I found Benny about 3 days ago in the middle of the road. He seen a vet yesterday and got dewormed and ear mites medicine. The vet said he was too weak for shots so we’re going back in 2 weeks so he can give him the shots and do another check up. Not all of his poops are black and sticky. He had one yesterday and one today. But he just did a normal brown poop about 20 minutes ago. I also wanted to add that he has no other symptoms. No vomiting. Eating a lot, active and playing. Drinking lots of water. Do you think he might be bleeding internally?

Given that Benny was recently dewormed and treated for ear mites, and considering that he is eating well, staying active, and drinking plenty of water, it is less likely that he is experiencing internal bleeding. The black, sticky stool could be a side effect of the deworming medication or something he ingested before you found him.

However, I recommend continuing to monitor his stool and overall behavior closely. If the black, sticky stool reoccurs or if you notice any changes in his behavior or health, it would be wise to take him to a vet for further advice. Given his young age and recent health issues, keeping a close eye on him is important.
