She chewed up thin rope necklace while I was at work and I am not sure if she ingested any but she is acting normal just eating a bit less. No diarrhea or vomiting
I'm glad to hear that your dog is acting normally and hasn't shown any signs of vomiting or diarrhea. However, ingesting foreign objects like a rope necklace can still pose a risk, even if symptoms aren't immediately apparent.
Let's go over a few things you should keep an eye on:
Firstly, monitor her appetite and eating habits closely. You mentioned she's eating a bit less, so watch to see if her appetite improves or worsens. If she stops eating altogether, that would be a significant concern.
Secondly, observe her stool and bowel movements. Look for any changes such as constipation, straining, or the presence of rope fibers, as these could indicate a blockage or partial obstruction.
Additionally, pay attention to her behavior and activity level. Any signs of discomfort, lethargy, or changes in behavior, such as becoming unusually quiet or appearing to be in pain, could signal an internal issue.
Even though she hasn't shown symptoms of vomiting or diarrhea yet, continue to monitor for these signs, as they can indicate gastrointestinal distress.
In the meantime, ensure she has access to plenty of water and try to feed her small, easily digestible meals. If you notice any concerning symptoms or if her condition doesn't improve, it would be wise to seek veterinary attention. Ingesting foreign objects can sometimes lead to serious complications like intestinal blockages, which may require medical intervention.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
